Admission requirements

  1. In our admission process, we consider each application carefully and open for students from around the world. To be considered for the admission, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
    1.1 Apply via Ministry of Foreign Affair under Thailand International Postgraduate Program (TIPP): go to http://www.tica.thaigov.net/main/en/relation/113593-TIPP-2020.html and follow the instruction.
    1.2 Direct apply with Walailak University: Complete a graduate application via  https://entry.wu.ac.th/graduate/home.asp?lng=t&lang=E
  1. The applicant must hold a Bachelor degree in the Sciences, Engineering, Technology, Health Science in the field of Health Science, Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering or other related fields with the least final GPAX of 2.75 or the applicant have at least 5 years of work experience related to program. In case the applicant did not graduate in mentioned fields, the qualification of an applicant will be considered and approved by the committees of the program.
  2. Applicants whose native language is not English must submit scores from the TOEFL, IELTS, or CU-TEP with a score of at least 450 (TOFEL-PBT), 45 (TOEFL-IBT), 4.5 (IELTS), 57 (CU-TEP) or CEFR B1 level.
  3. Applicants are expected to submit a tentative interest research topic and concept paper.
  4. Interviews are required for students who met all requirements above.

For those who would like to apply in a fast track system (1-year program), a full proposal must be submitted. It is recommended that the applicants may consult with their potential supervisor on the possible thesis topic before application.

    The program is set according to the Ministry of Education Announcement titled “Standard Criteria for Graduate Studies 2005”, with specified plan A(2) curriculum.

Submission of thesis research proposal

When students successfully pass all the program requirements, they must submit a research proposal with an oral presentation to the committee of the program. If the review committee finds the written proposal unacceptable, it will be returned to the student with comments for revision. If found to be appropriate, the respect to a topic (in environmental, health, and safety technology), format, and technical production, the proposal will then be approved by the school committee. Students are allowed to enroll for a dissertation course with the thesis advisory committee after the approval of the research proposal.

Graduation conditions

  1. Pass all compulsory courses and collect 45 credits of thesis.
  2. Publish a thesis-related manuscript at one full paper proceeding in the peer-reviewed international conference.
  3. Complete oral thesis defense and submit the final thesis to the graduate school.
    Language
    English is used in teaching and learning, as well as in the assessment processes.
