GIS Training Elevates Disaster Management Skills at School of Public Health Workshop

"On the 7th and 8th of October 2023, the Master of Science in Environmental, Safety Technology, and Health, or ESTH, conducted a hands-on training workshop titled ""Applying Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing Data in Disaster Risk Area Management and Risk Assessment."" Hosted in the Thasala meeting room at the School of Public Health, the session was graced by the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Sombat Yumuang, and Ms. Kannika Khamwang from the GisThai (Geo-Informatics center for Thailand), who served as the workshop’s esteemed speakers. After an intensive two-day program, the faculty and ESTH students emerged equipped with valuable knowledge, ready to innovate in research and thesis development. This training exemplifies the commitment to nurturing expertise that can contribute significantly to disaster management and risk evaluation, a critical area in today's increasingly unpredictable climate."
