School of Public Health Leadership Attends International Public Health Conference in Laos

Luang Prabang, Laos – A distinguished delegation from the School of Public Health recently attended the 14th International Conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional Countries, held from June 27th to 29th, 2024, at the prestigious Pullman Hotel. The event, themed ""Meeting the Sustainable Development Goals through Improved Nutrition, Health Equity, and Climate Change Adaptation,"" brought together leading experts and policymakers to address critical public health challenges in the region. The School's delegation was led by Dean Asst. Prof. Dr. Supabhorn Yimthiang, alongside Vice Deans Asst. Prof. Dr. Prasert Makkaew and Asst. Prof. Dr. Junjira Mahaboon. Their participation highlighted the institution's commitment to advancing public health education and research. Joining them were Asst. Prof. Nopadol Precha, Assistant Dean, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charuai Suwanbamrung, Head of the Research Institute, who actively engaged in discussions on innovative regional public health strategies. In recognition of its outstanding contributions to public health education and research, the School of Public Health, Walailak University, was honored with the Greater Mekong Subregion Public Health Academic Network International Outstanding Award 2024 for ""Public Health Academic Excellence."" This accolade underscores the School's leadership and dedication to fostering a healthier and more equitable society. The conference served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, fostering collaborations that will drive the future of public health initiatives in the Greater Mekong Subregion and beyond.
