Walailak University’s School of Public Health Receives 2025 Academic Excellence Award at Greater Mekong Public Health Conference

The School of Public Health, Walailak University, received the Public Health Academic Excellence Award 2025, recognizing excellence in public health education, at the 15th International Conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional Countries on 26 October 2025. Assistant Professor Dr. Prasert Makkaew, Vice Dean of the School of Public Health, accepted the award on behalf of the School alongside representatives from public health institutions and academic networks across the Greater Mekong Subregion. Held under the theme “Building a Regional Health Community: Challenges and Innovations in Public Health,” the conference brought together academics, researchers, and public health institutions to exchange knowledge and perspectives on shared health challenges and emerging approaches to public health across the region. The award recognizes the School’s work in public health education and provides further impetus for the continued development of teaching and learning that prepares graduates to respond to changing health needs in Thailand and the wider region.
