Public Health Contest 2026 Brings Together More Than 2,000 Students from Across Thailand

The School of Public Health, Walailak University, hosted the final round of Public Health Contest 2026, a national competition for upper-secondary school students competing for the Royal Trophy of Her Royal Highness Princess Aditayadornkitikhun. This year’s competition attracted 657 teams from 322 schools across 56 provinces, representing more than 2,000 students nationwide. The final was held at the Chulabhorn Vejchawat Building, Walailak University Hospital. The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Sarawoot Palipoch, Vice President of Walailak University, while Assistant Professor Dr. Supabhorn Yimthiang, Dean of the School of Public Health, welcomed participants, teachers, parents, judges and university representatives. Professor Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, delivered a video address to the participants. He highlighted emerging diseases, population ageing and environmental pollution as major health challenges and encouraged young people to use science, systematic thinking and innovation to develop solutions for society. The competition covered five areas: Public Health Academic Project, Public Health Academic Quiz, Public Health Short Video, Public Health English Speech Contest, and the Disaster Preparedness Hackathon. The five categories received 176, 204, 121, 94 and 62 team entries, respectively, before finalists were selected for the on-site competition.
