Public Health Walailak University Joins National Dialogue on OSH and Road Safety Excellence Center
On 3 April 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Supabhorn Yimthiang, Dean of the School of Public Health, Walailak University, together with Dr. Tassanu Ruengsuwan, Head of the Occupational Health and Safety Program, and Acting Sub Lt. Areeya Madsusan, participated in a meeting on the development of the OSH & Road Safety Excellence Center at Thailand’s Ministry of Labour. The meeting was organized by the Thailand Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Public Organization), or TOSH, bringing together representatives from relevant organizations and professional networks to discuss the development of the safety excellence center and organizational measures for road safety. Participants exchanged perspectives and practical experience on how safety policies can be translated into effective action within organizations. Representatives from the School of Public Health contributed expertise in occupational health, workplace safety, and road risk management, with particular attention to approaches that can be applied in workplaces and educational institutions. The discussion addressed how organizational measures can support safer working and travel environments and help reduce preventable risks. The School’s participation forms part of its continuing work in occupational health and safety, connecting academic expertise with national networks and professional practice. Through such collaboration, the School seeks to contribute to the development of practical safety systems and measures that protect workers, students, and the wider public.
