PHWU Students Awarded 1st Runner-Up in National Public Health Research Competition
The School of Public Health, Walailak University, extends its warmest congratulations to four fourth-year students from the Bachelor of Public Health Science program for being awarded 1st Runner-Up in the Oral Presentation category at the 40th National Public Health Student Conference (Rojanakorn Games). The event was organized by the Federation of Thai Public Health and Health Science Students and held at Mahasarakham University on February 1–2, 2025. Award recipients: Miss Niranda Jitboon Mr. Natthaphon Tatsaichon Miss Natthakan Detcharoen Miss Kamonpan Poodprao Their research, titled “Factors Associated with the Prevention of Overweight among Upper Secondary School Students in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province”, focused on adolescent health behaviors and the development of school-based strategies for overweight prevention. The study applied principles of health education and behavioral science to analyze factors influencing preventive practices among students. The team’s work was recognized for its solid research framework, rigorous data analysis, and clearly articulated findings. Moreover, the recommendations presented were considered practical and applicable within both community and school health settings. This achievement reflects the students' dedication and ability to apply academic knowledge to real-world public health challenges. It also highlights the academic strength of the School of Public Health, Walailak University, in nurturing students to become capable researchers and public health professionals. The school congratulates the four students on their well-deserved success and wishes them continued growth and contribution to the field of public health.
