PHWU Hosts “E-Cigarettes & Health” Workshop to Empower Youth Leaders Against E-Cigarettes On December 21-22, 2024, the School of Public Health, Walailak University, led by Asst. Prof. Paleeratana Wongrith and a team of top researchers, organized the “E-Cigarettes & Health: Empowering Young Leaders” workshop at Lansaka Meeting Room, Academic Building 8, Walailak University. The workshop aimed to enhance the capacity of 20 student leaders from educational institutions in Upper Southern Thailand to become key communicators and advocates against e-cigarette use among secondary school students. The training employed interactive learning techniques such as “Think-Pair-Share” and featured a special guest speaker, Dr. Geoff Frampton from the University of Southampton, a global expert in youth tobacco prevention. This initiative not only raised awareness about the dangers of e-cigarettes but also equipped young leaders with the knowledge and skills to promote tobacco-free environments in their schools and communities.
