School of Public Health Commemorates Mahidol Day on September 24, 2024

"On September 24, 2025, the School of Public Health at Walailak University participated in a ceremony to honor His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol, known as the ""Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health in Thailand,"" on the 95th anniversary of his passing. The event took place at the Walailak Hospital, and was organized by the Health Sciences College and related academic groups within the university. Assistant Professor Dr. Supabhorn Yimthiang, Dean of the School of Public Health, together with faculty members, administrators, and students, laid a wreath in tribute to His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla, paying respects to his invaluable contributions to Thai Modern Medicine and Public Health. This solemn ceremony reflected the deep respect and gratitude felt for his legacy, which continues to inspire future generations in the health sciences. On the same day, Assistant Professor Napadol Preecha, Assistant Professor Paleeratana Wongrith, and Lecturer Apirak Bumayuth, Assistant Deans of the School of Public Health, alongside other faculty members and students, participated in a Buddhist merit-making ceremony at Sala Thai, Walailak University Hospital. This ceremony was held to make merit and offer blessings in memory of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla, commemorating his profound impact on the fields of medicine and public health in Thailand. The School of Public Health is honored to be part of these commemorative events, reflecting on the legacy of Prince Mahidol, whose dedication to advancing healthcare and public health continues to guide and inspire the academic and healthcare communities in Thailand."
