PHWU Staff Joins Seminar to Enhance Student Activities

In July 2025, the School of Public Health, Walailak University warmly welcomed 10 inbound exchange students from Kunming Medical University, China, under the Student Mobility Program. This marks the third round of international student exchange between the two institutions continuing a successful history of both outbound (Walailak students visiting China) and inbound (Chinese students visiting Thailand) exchanges. The program was made possible through the financial support of the School Fund and the CIA Fund (Center for International Affairs). It aims to enhance academic collaboration in teaching, research, and knowledge sharing in the field of public health, while also promoting cross-cultural learning through diverse and engaging activities. One of the highlights of this year's program was a formal courtesy visit to Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. The President extended a warm welcome and inspiring message to the exchange students and expressed his appreciation for the ongoing partnership between the two universities, emphasizing its value for international academic development. Throughout their stay, the students from Kunming Medical University participated in a series of field and cultural activities that provided them with firsthand exposure to Thailand’s public health system. These included community-based learning alongside Thai public health students, visits to primary healthcare facilities, and engaging in various cultural immersion experiences such as Thai traditional arts, cuisine workshops, and wearing Thai traditional attire. These activities not only enriched their knowledge but also fostered lasting intercultural friendships. This exchange initiative reflects Walailak University’s strong commitment to its internationalization mission and reinforces the School of Public Health’s role as a regional hub for global health education and collaboration.
