Walailak University’s School of Public Health Discusses Waste Management Solutions in Nakhon Si Thammarat

On the evening of Thursday, July 3, 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Supaphorn Yimthiang, Dean of the School of Public Health at Walailak University, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Panatda Pibul, participated in a meeting to discuss ongoing strategies and operational methods for addressing waste management issues in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The meeting saw a full attendance of representatives from relevant organizations, including the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Industrial Council, the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Administrative Organization led by its President, Ms. Warin Chinwong, Siam Cement Group (SCG) Thung Song Plant, and Paknam Chawang Subdistrict Municipality. The discussion's objective was to collaboratively find sustainable waste management solutions tailored to the local context and to foster cooperation among government, private sector, and academic institutions. This partnership aims to develop efficient and environmentally friendly waste management models. During the meeting, the School of Public Health at Walailak University was assigned the role of compiling and analyzing data, and defining waste disposal methods for all problematic clusters in the province. This work will be funded by the Provincial Administrative Organization, with the goal of achieving tangible and sustainable results.
