Assoc.Prof.Dr. Charuai Suwanbamrung, Dengue Fever Specialist, Joins Task Force for Mosquito-Borne Disease Control in Surat Thani

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Charuai Suwanbamrung, a renowned expert in dengue fever from the School of Public Health, Walailak University, has joined a task force led by the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Disease Control to combat mosquito-borne diseases in key tourist areas of Surat Thani Province. From August 22 to 24, 2024, the team conducted site visits in the districts of Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, focusing on strengthening efforts to monitor, prevent, and control diseases transmitted by mosquitoes. These visits included thorough discussions with local networks and field operators to assess ongoing operations and address challenges in disease surveillance and control. The initiative also involved consultations with municipal leaders and local public health workers to plan future strategies and improve the effectiveness of disease control measures on the islands. The collaboration aimed to enhance the overall capacity to manage mosquito-borne diseases, ensuring the safety and well-being of both residents and tourists in these popular destinations.
