The PHWU Student Union at Walailak University's School of Public Health organized a lively and memorable orientation event for the 27th cohort of new students on June 2, 2024. Held under the theme ""Pirate Adventure,"" the event transformed the School of Public Health building into a pirate stronghold, welcoming new students and fostering relationships between seniors and juniors. The day began with the new students gathering at the activity building, where they walked together to the School of Public Health. Upon arrival, they passed through the ""Asoka"" archway, a symbol of the school, and participated in ice-breaking activities designed to build camaraderie and inject fun into their first university experience. Subsequently, the students engaged in the ""PHWU Pirate Ship Flag"" activity, emphasizing teamwork and strategy through flag painting and design, which also served as a means to ""Weave the Bonds of Brotherhood and Sisterhood"" among the students. This activity not only encouraged unity but also helped new students connect with their seniors. The afternoon was filled with challenges and problem-solving activities, such as transporting golden eggs onto pirate ships and treasure hunting. Each station was not only fun but also educational, teaching valuable lessons on teamwork and personal growth. The day concluded with the ""Pirate Music Festival"" in the evening, featuring performances by senior students and the university band, The Asoka, creating a festive and memorable atmosphere. The event, ""The Pirate Adventure,"" proved to be an enriching experience for the new students, leaving them with lasting memories and a strong sense of community as they start their journey at Walailak University.
