My name is Hien Thi Nguyen, MD, MPH. I am currently a lecturer at the Department of Nutrition and Food Safety, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP), Vietnam. I have been working at the university since 2010 after completing my Bachelor of Medical Doctor degree, with a graduation thesis titled “Study on clinical and subclinical characteristics of primary liver cancer in Can Tho.”
In 2013, I earned my Master of Public Health degree, with a thesis on “Assessment of nutritional status and associated factors among children aged 11–14 in Can Tho.” These academic foundations shaped my passion for community nutrition and public health.
With over a decade of experience, I have been teaching core modules such as Nutrition and Food Safety, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Community Practice. I also serve as a supervisor for undergraduate students in Medical Doctor, Preventive Medicine and Public Health programs, with a focus on integrating evidence-based nutrition into their training.
In parallel with my academic role, I have worked as a medical doctor at the Nutrition Unit, CTUMP Hospital since 2018. I am currently Head of the Nutrition Unit, responsible for nutritional assessment, patient counseling, and coordinating clinical nutrition services.
My core competencies include teaching, scientific research, patient care, statistical analysis, and scientific writing. I am committed to advancing nutritional science and improving public health outcomes through education, research, and clinical care.
