Eskinder Israel Tona

I am a PhD candidate and public health researcher working on improving barriers to breast cancer screening, diagnosis and overall management. My research employs a variety of methodologies such as systematic reviews, cross-sectional studies, qualitative methods, participatory action research, and evaluation studies. I am keenly interested in health-seeking behavior, sexual, reproductive and maternal health research, design, implementation and evaluation studies. I hold my MPH from Hawassa University, Ethiopia, which explored determinants of HIV infection at 18 months of age among HIV exposed infant in the context of PMTCT intervention in Southern Ethiopia. Previously, I worked as health care provider (in hospital), program officer (in local and international NGOs) and then as graduate assistant, assistant lecturer, and later as lecturer in Ethiopian Universities.
