United Kingdom Professional Standard Framework

Course design process as well as teaching and learning management at School of Public Health based on Outcome-based Learning which is accredited by the Higher Education Association, United Kingdom in accordance with United Kingdom Professional Standard Framework (UKPSF). Moreover, thirty-two instructors have achieved the status of Senior Fellowship/Fellowship (March, 2022), which is the largest number in the School/Faculty of Public Health in Thailand.

2. Accredited Programs by the Professional Council

Bachelor’s degree programs at School of Public Health (Environmental Health, Occupational Health, and Safety, Community Public Health) accredited by the Community Health Council. In addition, the Environmental Health program and Occupational Health and Safety program also design courses in accordance with Council of Science and Technology Professionals. This will bring career opportunities to graduates because there are few schools/faculties of Public Health in Thailand that all programs are accredited by all professional councils like School of Public Health, Walailak University.

4. Eight Months Cooperative Education

To prepare graduates with the highest working performance, School of Public Health has adjusted the cooperative education system from four months to eight months which is the only school/faculty of public health in Thailand. This is for students to practice with the workplace as full-time employees. Therefore, changing the cooperative education system will help students to work immediately upon graduation.

5. High Rate Employment

Graduates’ employment rate is in the range of 80%-100%, the average rate is 90% through the twenty generations of graduates who have been distributed throughout the country in private and public agencies, ministries, departments, divisions, and local governments.

6. International Learning Skills Activities

School organizes various activities that enhance international learning skills, such as international co-operative education, student mobility programs with international universities such as Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Taiwan, English language proficiency tutorials etc. In addition, school provides full-time foreign lecturers and special guest lecturers that students can study directly from them,

7. Quality and Readiness of Lecturers

PHWU-Lecturers are well qualified in a variety of specialties that will contribute knowledge to students. More than 60% are doctoral degree lecturers/pursuing doctoral degrees, 50% received academic positions (March, 2022). This is considered that PHWU is at the forefront of school/faculty of public health in Thailand.

8. Adequate Equipment and Tools

PHWU and WU focus on providing equipment and tools for students. In order to give students practice with the real equipment. There are laboratories and sufficient tools for students in every course to enhance their learning skills.
